Autumn remaining the ground
Fallen leaves and twisted nails. A canvas with fragments of fiberglass mesh tape (used for reinforcing cracks in walls and ceilings). The fragility of what seems stable, the cyclicality of all processes, the impulse to dig through layers — to either conceal something deep within or expose what was hidden.
To extract the unseen through cracks, to dissect, to peer beneath the surface — in order to retrieve, or perhaps to bury it more securely, to forget, or to ensure it is never forgotten.
